Fleet-Davis verbally committed to the Terps in July, the same month Potomac teammate Deon Jones did the same, becoming the third player to commit to Maryland in less than 24 hours. He’s rated as the No. 44 running back in the Class of 2017 and the No. 14 player in Maryland on the 247Sports Composite. He took his official visit to College Park in December.
Fleet-Davis isn’t an “all-purpose back” like Anthony McFarland and Javon Leake, Maryland’s other two signees (so far) at the position. He’s more of a downhill runner, and his role will likely consist mostly of straight between-the-tackles running. He enters what’s now a crowded backfield at Maryland, but the Terps showed the need to rotate a lot of backs in during last season.
Fleet-Davis committed before either of the Terps’ other running backs did. Not that it appears to bother him.
"Why you go to Maryland they got to many running backs"
