Jones is the second Floridian commit in as many days for Maryland, which dipped back into the state that’s been so fruitful since DJ Durkin took over two Decembers ago. He chose Maryland over Nebraska, Iowa State and Pitt.
The 6’1.5, 176-pound receiver is the fourth wideout in the class, joining three-stars Brian Cobbs, Dontay Demus and Darryl Jones. With Maryland’s go-to threat D.J. Moore off to the NFL, this group can help mitigate some of what the team will lose in his absence.
Jones is the No. 99 overall prospect in Florida and the No. 102 receiver in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. His commitment is the 24th in Maryland’s class and vaults the Terps over TCU and UCLA from No. 20 to No. 18 in the country.
