Three-star safety Raymond Boone is officially a Maryland Terrapin after signing his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
Boone is the No. 21 prospect in Maryland and the No. 87 athlete in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. The Eleanor Roosevelt product committed to Maryland in June, making it two straight years the Terps pulled the Raiders’ highest-rated senior.
Maryland has landed three defensive backs in this class, with former four-star Marcus Lewis joining the program after transferring from Florida State and sitting out last season. Boone is the lowest-rated of the bunch, but is perhaps the best overall athlete.
The Terps had five defensive backs join the program last class, but four-star freshman Markquese Bell and three-star junior college transfer Alex Woods are no longer with the program. Those departures, combined with Josh Woods and Denzel Conyers graduating and JC Jackson leaving early for the NFL draft, leave room for new guys to come contribute.
