It’s been awhile, but Maryland football’s recruiting Class of 2018 picked up another member on Thursday evening, when three-star defensive tackle Jalen Alexander picked the Terps.
Alexander is the No. 105 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 28 overall prospect in Virginia, per the 247Sports Composite. At 6’4, 288 pounds, he’s got the ideal frame to stick at defensive tackle or slide over to strong side defensive end in college.
After visiting College Park over the summer and returning to campus for the UCF game, Alexander chose the Terps over NC State, Georgia Tech and North Carolina.
With his commitment, Maryland’s Class of 2018 stays at No. 18 in the country but moves closer to No. 17 Clemson. If all else holds, Alexander will team up with DeMatha four-star defensive tackle Austin Fontaine and Good Counsel three-star defensive end Tyler Baylor on Maryland’s defensive line. Paint Branch three-star outside linebacker Durell Nchami could play the BUCK position as well.
Maryland will also host three-star defensive end Joseph Boletepeli this weekend on an official visit this weekend, and the Terps are still pursuing St. Frances four-star defensive end Eyabi Anoma.
