[Update: Castro-Fields has delayed his announcement until National Signing Day.]
Maryland would love to have Tariq Castro-Fields play football for the Terps. Unfortunately for them, it looks like he’ll be playing for one of their Big Ten East opponents.
He’s announcing his commitment Monday, and he’s choosing between Maryland, Alabama and Penn State. Castro-Fields announced his top three earlier this month.
Castro-Fields took his official visit to Maryland back on Dec. 10, then visited Penn State on Jan. 13 and Alabama on Jan. 19.
In the past week or so, predictions came rolling in that he’ll end up at Penn State. Here’s his 247Sports Crystal Ball profile:
Castro-Fields did get an in-home visit on Friday from Terps head coach DJ Durkin, defensive backs coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, wide receivers coach Chris Beatty and defensive coordinator Andy Buh.

Maybe they were able to turn the tide at the last second, but it really looks like Maryland is out of the running here.
