McFarland released a top three that included Maryland, Miami and Alabama on Dec. 13, although most experts think this is a two-horse race between the Terps and Hurricanes. Miami’s the clear favorite, with 84 percent of 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions.
McFarland is the No. 2 prospect in Maryland and the nation’s No. 3 All-Purpose back, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s rated higher than anyone in the Terps’ 2017 recruiting class, and Maryland still has a chance to land him, even though it isn’t likely.
