Three-star Georgia wide receiver Carlos Carriere announced his verbal commitment to play football at Maryland Saturday on Twitter.

He is the ninth recruit to verbally commit to Maryland in the class of 2017 and the second wide receiver, following Sean Nelson, another three-star who hails from Georgia. Nelson committed to Maryland exactly a week ago.
Carriere would bring some serious size to College Park - at 6'5, he's taller than any wideout currently on Maryland's roster. He is the No. 97 receiver in the class of 2017 and the No. 68 player in Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite.
He didn't have many other offers, as Navy and Eastern Kentucky are two of the highest-profile colleges that offered him.
Maryland offered Carriere back in March, and he told Testudo Times in April that the coaching staff was "really pushing for him," and thought he was a "high-upside prospect."
