Three-star Good Counsel (Md.) athlete Ayinde Eley announced his verbal commitment to Maryland on Saturday, ending a huge recruiting weekend for the Terps.
He made his announcement on Periscope, dramatically entering the frame after four-star quarterback Kasim Hill committed to Maryland seconds beforehand.
The two join four-star defensive tackle Cam Spence in Maryland's recruiting class, as he committed to the Terps on Friday.
Eley is listed as an outside linebacker and wide receiver on the 247Sports Composite, which also lists him as the No. 37 athlete in the class of 2017 and the No. 10 recruit in Maryland. He also had offers from Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, South Carolina and Ohio State, but 247Sports Crystal predicted a 100% chance he would commit to Maryland before his announcement.
At Maryland he seems to project as an outside linebacker. At 6'5, 205 lbs., he'll need to bulk up considerably before he would see playing time.
He's the fifth member of Maryland's recruiting class, as he joins Spence, Hill, three-star tight end Andrew Park and unranked cornerback Fofie Bazzie.
