Maryland men’s basketball is in store for a big challenge tonight as it takes on No. 4 Ohio State at Xfinity Center.
The Terps are coming off a 55-50 loss to Penn State. Eric Ayala led the team in the Friday night matchup as the only player in double figures, tying his career high in points with 23. Maryland played sloppy throughout the game, turning the ball over 16 times, which is tied for the season high.
Ohio State has won seven of its last eight games, including a big road win over then-No. 8 Iowa last Thursday. The Buckeyes are led by the trio of E.J. Liddell, Duane Washington Jr. and Justice Sueing, who each average double-digit scoring. Washington also leads the Big Ten in three-pointers made.
On the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, Maryland is looking for its fifth win of the year against a ranked team and its second against a top-10 opponent.
Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. and the game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
The Numbers
Maryland: 10-9 (4-8 in the Big Ten)
