Maryland men’s basketball won’t play a game this week, the team announced Tuesday.
The Terps’ Saturday matchup against Nebraska has been postponed due to positive cases within the Cornhuskers’ program.
This is the first Big Ten contest postponed for Maryland, though the program had four nonconference matchups called off earlier this season. The team was able to make up several games with new opponents, but still played six out of conference games instead of seven.
The Maryland and Nebraska programs are working together to find a new date to face each other. The matchup against the last-place team is huge for the Terps given the stack of ranked opponents in the conference.
The Terps’ next game will now be against No. 7 Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 19 on the road.
