MM 8.12: 2021 SF James Graham III to announce commitment on Aug. 17

This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

Four-star James Graham III will make his commitment official within the week, announcing that he will make his decision on Aug. 17 on his Twitter.

The 2021 forward, listed at 6’8, 205 pounds, will be deciding between Maryland, Auburn, Memphis and Wisconsin.

Graham, who is listed as a four-star recruit by 24/7 Sports and ESPN, has been courted by the Terps longer than other school in his top-four, as the program offered the 6’8 wing back in May. After averaging 20 points per game at Nicolet High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Graham’s recruiting stock has risen sharply this summer, attracting interest from blue blood programs throughout the Power Five conferences.

Graham has been top priority of head coach Mark Turgeon over the previous months, with the Terps’ position in his top-four reflecting the effort Turgeon and his coaching staff have put toward securing the No. 3 player in Wisconsin.

Graham’s commitment would add to an already strong 2021 class, which features two four-star recruits in Julian Reese and Ike Cornish.
