JACKSONVILLE — Maryland basketball is back in the NCAA Tournament, and the No. 6-seed Terps are just minutes away from tipping off against No. 11-seed Belmont in the round of 64.
In the first game of an afternoon doubleheader at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, No. 3-seed LSU held off No. 14-seed Yale, 79-74, to advance to the Round of 32. The winner between the Terps and Bruins will battle the Tigers on Saturday. With the first game ending at 2:50 p.m. ET, expect a tipoff shortly after 3:20.
Belmont beat Temple in a First Four contest late Tuesday night and arrived to the arena early Wednesday morning. Maryland, meanwhile, has known its destination since Sunday evening. However, the Terps are coming off a disheartening loss to Nebraska in the Big Ten tournament, while Belmont has won 15 of 16 games.
It’s win-or-go-home, and this is your space for observations, commentary and more during the game. As always, be respectful, and go Terps.
