After winning its first road game since December, Maryland basketball looks to continue its winning ways before the Big Ten Tournament when it hosts No. 17 Michigan on Saturday at noon.
The Terps have won two straight games and are playing well, especially in their comeback 71-64 victory over Northwestern. Anthony Cowan Jr. and Bruno Fernando have come alive for Maryland, which comes at a good time with the Wolverines coming to the Xfinity Center.
The Terps have to contain Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Charles Matthews and Moritz Wagner, Michigan’s three best scorers, if they want to win, which is easier said than done.
Saturday is Senior Day for Sean Obi, Jared Nickens and Michal Cekovsky, and Maryland is looking to make a big statement to the NCAA selection committee, so Saturday is a must-win game.
The numbers
Maryland: 19-11 (8-9 Big Ten)
Michigan: 23-7 (12-5 Big Ten)
All-time series: Maryland leads 6-5
Odds: Maryland and Michigan are even
