It’s unclear how much Maryland basketball has to play for after another crushing road loss to Nebraska on Tuesday, but the Terps will look to begin a late-season winning streak when they host Rutgers on Saturday night.
It’s a primetime matchup between two teams in the bottom half of the Big Ten, and most casual basketball fans will be glued to NBA All-Star Saturday Night. But Jake Layman and Melo Trimble will be on hand, and Maryland is seeking its sixth straight win against Rutgers since the teams joined the league.
The numbers
Maryland: 17-11 (6-9 Big Ten)
Rutgers: 13-15 (3-12 Big Ten)
All-time series: Maryland leads 8-3
Odds: Maryland is an 11.5-point favorite
