Maryland basketball’s Melo Trimble invited to 2017 NBA Draft Combine

It’s time for Trimble to shine, and earn his way into the mock draft boards.

Former Maryland basketball guard Melo Trimble has received an invite to the NBA Draft Combine, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

The combine will be held from May 9-14 in Chicago, with the on-court workouts right in the middle on May 11 and 12.

It will be the second time Trimble has participated in the NBA Combine. His disappointing showing last year was a factor in his decision to return to Maryland; hopefully for him, this time yields better results. He’s not a guy who will jump off the page with measurables, but can surely impress during the on-court sessions.

Last year Trimble had the option of removing himself from the draft, an option he exercised at the last minute. This year, because he’s hired an agent, he does not have that option.

Draft Express projects Trimble will go undrafted, as he’s their No. 90 prospect. Now is the time for him to change their minds.

The NBA Draft will take place June 22 on ESPN.
