Editor’s note: We’re combining the How To Watch and GameThread today, so use this space for all your needs on this snowy Saturday afternoon. As always, be respectful, and go Terps.
Coming off an 87-62 win over Ohio, Maryland basketball looks to improve to 9-3 as it welcomes Gardner-Webb to the Xfinity Center on Saturday at 12:30 p.m ET. The game, which will be broadcast on BTN Plus, is a lopsided match favoring the Terps.
With Bruno Fernando currently sidelined with an ankle injury, Maryland has to regroup in the center department. Michal Cekovsky will get his minutes starting, but look out for Sean Obi to get added playing time as well.
Also, Andrew Terrell is the only Maryland player on the Terps’ roster yet to record a point this season, so that’s something to look towards if Maryland is up big late in the second half.
This is the first-ever meeting between the two schools, but don’t expect much of a fight from the Bulldogs. Maryland, according to ESPN, has a 97 percent chance of winning, so it would be smart to take those odds.
The numbers
Maryland: 8-3 (1-1 Big Ten)
Gardner-Webb: 3-7 (0-0 Big South)
