Watch a Gardner-Webb botched layup turn into a Darryl Morsell slam dunk

As they say: one man’s trash, another man’s treasure.

Not much went right for Gardner-Webb against Maryland Saturday afternoon, as the Terps coasted to a 82-60 win over the Runnin’ Bulldogs.

If you didn’t catch any of our coverage from yesterday, this one play sums up the afternoon pretty nicely.

Gardner-Webb’s Jaheam Cornwall strode down court for what looked like an easy, uncontested bucket in the second half. It was too strong off the glass, and fans at the Xfinity Center didn’t let him forget it.

Sophomore guard Anthony Cowan tossed an outlet pass to freshman Darryl Morsell, who finished the play with a two-handed slam on the other end.

Morsell finished the game with a career-high 18 points, going 6-for-8 from the floor. The frosh out of Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore has made a habit of getting his hands on the rack this season, so don’t expect this to be the last play where he turns someone’s trash into his own treasure.
