Maryland basketball’s game vs. Bucknell will be in prime time

This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

Maryland men’s basketball will play Bucknell at 8:30 p.m. ET on BTN on Nov. 18, the program announced Monday afternoon.

It’s the eighth time the two programs will meet, with Maryland taking each of the first seven.

It’ll be the fourth game of the season for the Terps, who open the season on Friday, Nov. 10 at Stony Brook in the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. That game can be streamed on BTN Plus. Maryland also plays Maryland-Eastern Shore and Butler before hosting the Bison.

In other news

This will be the first season without Jaylen Brantley, Melo Trimble and Damonte Dodd in a few years, meaning the new guys will have to keep with a pretty high locker room dancing standard the trio set. Luckily, Jared Nickens is still around to show them how it’s done.

ESPN ranked Maryland’s Justin Jackson as the No. 20 player in the NCAA Monday.

Maryland football takes the field at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday against Michigan, who’s opened as a 15.5-point favorite. That’s just the first leg of a brutal three-game stretch to close the season.

Shawne Merriman will host the 15th-annual edition “Lights On” Foundation Coat Drive before that game. The event will benefit homeless Veterans in the greater Maryland and Washington DC area, per a release from Maryland’s athletic department.

In case you haven’t checked the Cole Field House cameras in a while (like I haven’t), they’ve added a new one and changed the angles on two of the originals. The new focus seems to be what will be practice fields where there used to be tennis courts next to Lot 1.

Maryland field hockey will look to take out former ACC foe Wake Forest in the first round of the NCAA tournament at 2p.m. on Saturday.
