Maryland men’s basketball will take on Navy the fifth-annual Veterans Classic, per a release from Navy’s athletic department.
The two other teams in the fifth edition of the double-header has yet to be announced, but we do know the Terps and Midshipmen will play in the nightcap.
It’ll be the first time the two teams have played each other since 1985, when they met in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Maryland won 64-59 behind a 20-point, eight-rebound performance from Len Bias over future NBA All-Star David Robinson’s Midshipmen.
This won’t exactly help the Terps’ RPI, as Navy hasn’t exactly been good at basketball recently, with only four winning seasons this century. That said, it’s always exciting to reignite a local rivalry.

Maryland football has its biggest game of the season this week (again) against Indiana. It’s a virtual must-win if the Terps are to find a way to six wins, and even still if they’re going to be invited to a bowl with five wins and their high APR score.
Speaking of Maryland football, the team’s game against Rutgers (which was rudely moved from Yankee Stadium to East Piscataway because Rutgers is going broke) will be played at 3:30 on BTN.
