Maryland basketball saw Illinois more than two weeks ago at home in a 25-point blowout victory. The Terps were missing their bigs, Damonte Dodd and Michal Cekovsky, to injury but a small lineup prevailed.
Melo Trimble scored 20 points and L.G. Gill had his breakout game in increased minutes to lead the Terps to victory.
Things should be different on Saturday with the Illini playing at home just three days after a decisive 16-point victory over the Michigan Wolverines. With Dodd back in the lineup and playing at the top of his game, it’ll also be difficult for coach Mark Turgeon to stick to the small lineups that worked so well before.
The game will tip at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
