Big Ten Tournament 2016: Maryland basketball is 6.5-point underdog vs. Michigan State

The Spartans are all that stand between the Terps and a spot in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Maryland men's basketball is a 6.5-point underdog in Saturday's Big Ten Tournament semifinal against Michigan State, according to oddshark.com.

The Terps lost to the Spartans 74-65 in East Lansing back in January, the only time the two teams have met this season.

Statistician Ken Pomeroy's algorithms agree with the odds, as they predict a 76-70 finish in favor of No. 2 seed Michigan State (25-7, 12-6 Big Ten). KenPom.com gives No. 3 seed Maryland (27-5, 13-5 Big Ten) a 28 percent chance of winning. Our own Alex Kirshner predicted Michigan State to win, 75-72 in his preview of Saturday's matchup.

The two teams will tip off at approximately 3:30 p.m. on CBS, following the conclusion of Michigan-Purdue at 1 p.m. Here's everything you need to watch, stream or listen to the game.

A victory would do a lot for Maryland's tournament resume, as the Terps still could really use a quality win away from Xfinity Center.
