The Maryland Terrapins take on the Michigan State Spartans Saturday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Conference Tournament. The Terps defeated Nebraska 97-86, setting a Big Ten Tournament single-game record in the process. Michigan State blew out Ohio State in its semifinal game, winning 81-54. The other semifinal winners were Michigan, who defeated No. 1 seed Indiana, and Purdue, who easily handled No. 12 seed Illinois.
Senior forward Jake Layman had a dominant game against Nebraska, finishing with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshman center Diamond Stone scored 23 points and also grabbed 8 rebounds. All five of Maryland's starters reached double digits in scoring.
If Maryland defeats Michigan State on Saturday they will face the Purdue-Michigan winner in the title game on Sunday at 3:00 pm.
