Maryland basketball shouldn’t have too much trouble advancing to 4-0 Sunday against Towson. The Terps are coming off an easy win over Division III school St. Mary’s on Thursday, and this won’t be too much of a challenge.
The Tigers used to be one of the most underwhelming programs in the nation, enduring 15 straight losing seasons before hiring current coach Pat Skerry. The team had a dreadful 1-31 record in 2012-13, his first season, but Skerry’s rounded the Tigers into form since then. They went 20-13 last season, and are 2-0 to start this one.
Towson’s led by Mike Morsell and Arnaud William Adala Moto, both of whom are averaging over 20 points per game. That’s obviously from a very small sample size, but it appears those two are the guys who can do some damage.
KenPom projects Maryland to win 77-65.
