NCAA and Public: Crowing the 19-20 University of Maryland men's & women's basketball teams national champs
Ahead of Rutgers and Maryland is where. I imagine Maryland will work their way up this list.
Dwayne Haskins takes a selfie with a few fans in the final moments of a Redskins win, but misses the last play because of it. He was wearing #7 which Joe Theismann had given him permission to wear, but whom may have regretted it later. Joe tweets his displeasure citing a lack of professionalism. He could of mentioned self absorption too.
Dr. Scott A. Lynch accused Franklin in a lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania, saying the coach tried to "influence his decisions" on whether a player was ready to play again after suffering an injury, Penn Live reported Monday, citing the suit.
We run through some Terps news including what players have new basketball numbers, before starting our football previews. 41 days till Texas!
On Saturday the men's lacrosse team played a scrimmage against Virginia down in Charlottesville. While the score wasn't in Maryland's favor (8-13), there were quite a few take-aways from the Terps' last action before the season opener against Navy next Saturday.
(It should be noted that the Terps wore sweatpants and hoodies, and their jersey numbers were not what they will be in the regular season. In other words, it was near impossible to identify specific players in most instances.)
1. Dan Morris was superb. Although giving up eight goals in three quarters, it could have been much worse if not for Morris' play, He saved numerous close-range shots and will be one of the best in the country.
2. Face-offs went heavily in the Terps' favor. In the first half Austin Henningsen won seven of eight face-offs.>
3. The Terps had trouble clearing the ball. Virginia double and triple teamed Terps, forcing numerous turnovers.
4. The offense is a work in progress, as was expected when replacing all three starters from last year. There was a lot of buzz among the fans about freshman Bubba Fairman (#3 ranked recruit in the country). But because of the numbers switch (see above) I couldn't identify him yesterday. >
