This is big news for the Tar Heels, who haven't had their star point guard (broken hand) all season. Andy Katz doesn't get things wrong, so it's safe to say Paige will be on the floor in Chapel Hill Tuesday night, making for a great point guard matchup against Melo Trimble. Read our game preview.
Per football scoop, Maryland still plans on interviewing more coaches for the position, and the process isn't over yet.
247 Sports is reporting that San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich interviewed for Maryland's head coaching job this weekend. As a quarterback at Maryland, Reich was the architect of the team's historic comeback against Miami in 1984, and has been mentioned in connection with the head coaching job ever since Randy Edsall was fired.
Per this report from Mark Blaudschun, Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin will travel to Maryland on Monday and is "ready to sign" with the Terps. Durkin has enjoyed a successful first year as Michigan's defensive coordinator under Jim Harbaugh. A Michigan recruit says the report of Durkin's interest in Maryland is a "lie." And Jeff Moss reports that Michigan's administration thinks Durkin will wait for a more prestigious job than Maryland's.
Dwayne Haskins is the most important commitment Maryland football has had in years. This weekend, the 2016 quarterback prospect took an official visit to Florida, where he saw the Gators play Florida State. It looks like he had fun.
Richt would be an out-of-the-park hire for Maryland, and he's now available. He worked under current Maryland associate athletic director Damon Evans when Evans was the athletic director at Georgia before his own dismissal a few years ago. In theory, Richt being available helps Maryland anyway, as he's another top-tier head coach available for some top-tier program to hire, leaving more coaches available for the Terps.
One big man to another. The Terps are up by 4 at half against the Cleveland State Vikings.
What a way for Ross to go out in his final game at Maryland. The senior running back runs for 80-yards in what was the game-winning score that gave Maryland their 1st B1G win of the season and ended their eight game losing streak. Ross finished the game with 3 tds and gained 173 yards on the ground in his last game.
Not a bad way to go out for Maryland's senior running back.
Caleb Rowe dropped in what looked like a pretty nice touchdown throw to D.J. Moore for Maryland late in the first half against Rutgers on Saturday. Moore snuck into the end zone, ran with the ball and lost it on his way out of bounds. The touchdown call on the field was overturned, and Maryland eventually settled for a field goal. We don't get it.
