Maryland gymnastics earned a No. 25 ranking last week in both the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) and College Gym News preseason polls.

Maryland was one of five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 of the WCGA poll.

The Terps ended last season as the No. 23 team in the country and with a sixth straight NCAA Regional appearance. They return nine event starters this season, headlined by graduate Emma Silberman, who was a second-team All-Big Ten selection last year.

Maryland’s first meet is set for Friday night, when it’ll host West Chester, which was picked fourth in the Gymnastics East Conference preseason coaches’ poll and returns six all-conference performers.
