Maryland women’s soccer Monday earned a commitment from Loyola (Md.) transfer forward Delaney DeMartino.
DeMartino spent the past two seasons with the Greyhounds, during which she scored four goals across 30 starts. All of her goals came this past season, part of a nine-point campaign which helped her garner All-Patriot League honors.
The Potomac, Maryland, native previously starred at Walt Whitman High School, where she was named the named the All-Met Player of the Year by The Washington Post after her senior season.
The addition of a forward is a welcome sight for head coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer’s Terps, who failed to score in the final 10 games of the 2023 season. They were the only squad in the Big Ten to average fewer than one goal per game, scoring just nine in their 18 matches.
