Maryland football earned a transfer commitment Wednesday night from Purdue center Josh Kaltenberger, he announced on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

Maryland was one of five schools to which Kaltenberger took an official visit last week.

He will arrive in College Park after four seasons at Purdue, during which he made 36 appearances, making seven starts.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, Kaltenberger was ranked as a three-star prospect out of high school, per the 247Sports Composite. He redshirted the 2020 season.

Aric Harris and Mike Purcell, who split snaps at center for the Terps last season, are out of eligibility, providing a foreseeable path to a starting role for Kaltenberger next season.
