Maryland volleyball libero Milan Gomillion has been recognized as the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Her honor marks the first time that a Terp has been recognized since Nov. 27 2017, when former Maryland outside hitter Erika Prichard earned the nomination.
Gomillion recorded 54 digs, 11 assists and an ace this past weekend in Philadelphia. She also posted 36 service receptions.
The 5-foot-6 freshman currently leads the team with 104 digs, is tied second with 15 assists and is tied third in service aces.
Before her time as a Terrapin, the Bowie, Maryland native won the Best Digger Award at the Capitol Hill Classic in 2016, 2017 and 2019. She also played for the Metro Volleyball Club from 2015-2020.
