MM 8.31: Brionna Jones earns WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors

Former Maryland women’s basketball star Brionna Jones is the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week after dominating performances as a forward on the Connecticut Sun.

In the past week, Jones totaled 54 points, 29 rebounds, eight steals, four assists, and made two-thirds of shots across three victories.

The first game of the week was a 76-62 win over the Aces, and the second and third games were wins over Los Angeles with scores of 76-72 and 76-61 respectively.

The Sun currently has the best overall record in the league (20-6) and has a home record of 13-1. They will face the Washington Mystics tonight (8/31) at 7 p.m. and will be looking to extend their eight-game winning streak.
