Maryland volleyball made a late season addition to the roster earlier this week bringing on outside hitter Lexi Kohut to the program. Kohut is a graduate transfer from Appalachian State and appeared in 66 games over four years there before officially coming to the Terps.

“We’re so excited to be adding Lexi to the Terrapins family,” Maryland head coach Adam Hughes said in a press release. ”She brings four years of incredible experience as a dynamic outside hitter at App State and will add depth to a really important position. Lexi’s situation is incredibly unique, she actually came here to begin her career in academic services and fell in love with what Maryland and the Big Ten has to offer. We know she will be a perfect fit for our team and university culture.”

Kohut was a solid player for Appalachian State and also helped them capture the 2018 Sun Belt Championship. She accumulated 619 kills, 204 digs, and 93 blocks while with the program, showing off her excellent all-around abilities on the court.

Kohut, a native of Michigan, is the fourth transfer of the offseason for Maryland. The Terps have already brought on Hannah Thompson, Kaylee Thomas, and Paula Neciporuka, along with Kohut to round out the team’s transfers leading up to the 2021 season.
