MM 8.11: Melo Trimble signs with Galatasaray S.K.

Former Maryland men’s basketball star Melo Trimble signed with Galatasary S.K., the Turkish club announced on Tuesday.

Trimble most recently played for Fuenlabrada, a professional Spanish team, and averaged 16.4 points, 3.4 assists, 2.4 boards and 1.5 steals per game.

In his final run with the Terps during the 2016-17 season, the guard averaged a team-high 16.8 points per game. The Upper Marlboro, Maryland native capped off his collegiate career with a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection from the coaches and solidified his spot in the history books ranking 13th in points with 1,658 and second in successful free throws with 503.

Trimble's first appearance with Galatasary is set to take place during the Basketball Champions League in mid-September.
