Maryland women’s basketball forward Chloe Bibby was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Watch list Wednesday. The Cheryl Miller Award recognizes the top small forwards in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball delegated by a national committee of top college basketball personnel.
Bibby, a Mississippi State transfer who is now earning a graduate degree from Maryland, was ranked third on the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game while also grabbing six rebounds per contest. Bibby is currently a mere nine points away from her career 1,000 and will most likely achieve that feat early in the 2021-22 season.
Her performance last year earned her All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors as she recorded four double-doubles and scored in double digits in 21 games in her first season as a Terp.
Before her time at Maryland, Bibby played in 88 career games at Mississippi State, while averaging 9.1 points and 4.8 boards per game over her two seasons as a Bullog. The small forward started in all 18 games of the 2018-19 season, before suffering an ACL tear.
