Maryland picked up another recruit on Wednesday with three-star defensive lineman Daniel Owens via Twitter.

Owens selected the Terps over Rutgers, Syracuse and Penn State.

So far this season, according to MaxPreps, the lineman has recorded 16 total tackles which come out to an average of 3.2 per game. 14 of those are solo tackles. Owens has also recorded four sacks and deflected three passes for Calvery Hall High School in Baltimore over seven games.

Owens ranks as the No. 22 player coming out of the state of Maryland and the No. 103 defensive lineman in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Maryland now has a total of 12 commits in the Class of 2022 including four-star wide receiver Shaleak Knotts and three-star quarterback AJ Swann. The Terps’ recruiting class now ranks 61st in the nation and falls at the No. 13 spot in the Big Ten as of now.
