Pittsburgh wide receiver DJ Turner had himself quite the day on Saturday, finishing with a career-high 186 yards on eight receptions against NC State. The former Terp transferred from Maryland in early September due to the postponement of the Big Ten season, a decision that has revamped his career.

In Turner’s four seasons at Maryland, he compiled 294 receiving yards. In just four games at Pitt this season, the redshirt senior has already totaled 319 yards. His performance on Saturday earned him some love from NFL great Brian Westbrook and further motivation.

The DeMatha Catholic product got off to a quick start for the Panthers, scoring a touchdown on 76 yards receiving in week one against Austin Peay. Turner’s 319 receiving yards and 18.76 yards-per-catch are both good for team highs through four weeks.
