Sophomore forward Jalen Smith continues to remain high on most 2020 NBA mock drafts following the first three games of the season for No. 7 No. 7 Maryland men’s basketball.
Smith was predicted to go as the No. 10 overall pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Scout’s 2020 NBA Mock Draft 1.0. released Friday.
Sophomore guard Aaron Wiggins also appeared in the mock draft, going to the Sacramento Kings with the No. 15 pick in the second round.
Experts have previously tied Smith to the Thunder. In October, Stadium and Bleacher Report both had the Baltimore native heading to Oklahoma City with pick No. 9 and pick No. 26, respectively. And another mock draft released this past week by the Big Lead had him picked 23rd by the organization.
Smith was also pegged to go No. 13 to the Portland Trail Blazers by NBA Mock Draft Database on Nov. 11.
Smith has been very productive to start his sophomore campaign, averaging 14.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest. Against Oakland on Saturday, he experienced his first game without going into double figures for scoring and rebounding. But he did just about everything else for the Terps, notching eight points, seven rebounds, three steals and three blocks.
