Former Maryland basketball players are beginning to find their own out in the NBA. Jake Layman of the Minnesota Timberwolves had a great week, scoring 16 points in back-to-back games with impressive shooting percentages. The forward has emerged as a top talent off the bench for the T-Wolves.

Kevin Huerter had his best week of the season, but then went down with a shoulder injury, for which the timetable is still uncertain. Alex Len had his best game of the year, and it was when he came off the bench. Bruno Fernando has played extremely solid minutes and is making a case to start at center.

Wide receiver DJ Moore put up another great week but still couldn’t find the end zone. The speedy wide out had over 100 yards again.

Lila Bromberg, Jordan Gold and I recap the last week in the NBA for former Terps. We give our opinions on which Maryland alum is standing out the most in the NBA. We debate whether Bruno Fernando has shown enough to get the starting nod for the Hawks.

Then we recap Week 10 of the NFL season for former Terps. We also preview Week 11 and discuss how important each former Terp has been to their respective teams.

Here’s what we discuss:

  • How solid has Layman really been?
  • Did Huerter shake off the rust before getting injured again?
  • Should Len remain as a reserve?
  • Does Fernando deserve to start for the Hawks?
  • How was Moore’s performance?
  • Is Stefon Diggs back to his mediocre performances?
  • How important is Darnell Savage to the defense?
  • Is Yannick Ngakoue the leader on defense in Jacksonville?

Week 11 of the NFL season got underway Thursday night. NBA action continues throughout the week.
