When's the last time Maryland beat a team at home that had a better record than they did?

(at the time of the matchup) - Iowa, 2014.

I've suspected Maryland has played worse at home than on the road (or neutral sites) for a number of years and this seems to confirm that. Obviously you don't expect wins again Ohio State or Michigan at home, although Maryland hasn't been close to competitive in those games, nor against Penn State last year.

I'm actually starting to look forward to the away games...the team definitely seems to play better. Is this coaching? Is it the players being overconfident? Are they deflated by the pathetic crowd and atmosphere coming out of the tunnel? There seems to be a home field disadvantage now at Byrd (or whatever it's called now). Perhaps no coincidence that the Iowa game was homecoming, near 50,000 in attendance and most of those were Maryland fans (other sellout games in recent years are closer to 50/50 fan split).

Wonder when Vegas will catch up to the fact that you need to subtract 3 points for Maryland when at home rather than add 3?
