GameThread: Maryland basketball vs. Ohio State

Follow along with us as the Terps are in Columbus.

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Maryland men's basketball has the rare opportunity for a statement game tonight, when it faces Ohio State on the road at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The Terps are coming off a win over Iowa, that was closer for much of the game than the 91-73 final score might suggest. With the win, Maryland sneaks above .500 in Big Ten play, taking a 3-2 conference record on the road. Mark Turgeon will have just eight scholarship players at his disposal, with Dion Wiley ruled out due to concussion, in addition to prior season-ending injuries to Justin Jackson and Ivan Bender.

Ohio State comes into this test as one of just two teams still unbeaten in conference play, along with Purdue. The Buckeyes' latest feat: knocking off former No. 1 Michigan State, something the Terps failed at just days earlier. Keita Bates-Diop is having an astounding year, averaging 20 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.2 steals a night.

Maryland will have to be on its A-game to hand the Buckeyes their first conference loss, and in Columbus, Ohio, no less. This is your space for analysis, commentary or whatever comes to mind. As always, be respectful, and go Terps.
