The Terps close their non-conference schedule at home.

Mike Granse-USA TODAY Sports

Eight days after its last contest, Maryland basketball is back in action as it hosts UMBC at 8 p.m. Friday night on FS1. The Terps are wrapping up their non-conference schedule against the Retrievers before Big Ten play resumes on the other side of the new year.

If Maryland wins this game, it'll be the 400th victory of Mark Turgeon's head coaching career. But the Terps will be without sophomore forward Justin Jackson, who's out for the season with a torn labrum. Maryland does expect to have Dion Wiley and Michal Cekovsky back, and it'll need a little more production from the rest of its roster with Jackson out.
