Maryland men's basketball's conference schedule is up and the Terrapins will look ahead to see who they need to beat at Xfinity Center to best the 27-game home winning streak Wisconsin spoiled in February.
"We are excited about this year's team and have a good mix of returning veterans and new faces that I am confident our fans will enjoy watching at Xfinity Center," Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said in a statement that ticked off some of the team's recent home accomplishments. "It is a highly-competitive schedule, which includes a Big Ten Conference slate that is always tough. We are appreciative of the support and enthusiasm from our fans during our first two seasons in the Big Ten. They have played an instrumental role in our 34-2 record at Xfinity Center during that span."
The Terps will start Big Ten play on the first day of intra-conference action as they host Illinois in College Park on Dec. 27. Maryland will then finish its two-game home stand on New Years Day when Nebraska flies in.
A more favorable schedule wont send the Terps on the road against Tom Izzo or Tom Crean like last season, instead seeing them both only once at home.
Other notable games include the Terps' trip to Madison on Feb. 19 to avenge last season's home loss to the Badgers, a pair of games against Minnesota on Jan. 28 away and Feb. 22 at home to make up for an upset loss last season, a trip to Ann Arbor to play Michigan on Jan. 7, followed by a home game three days later against Indiana. Maryland's most challenging game comes at home, as the Terps play Michigan State to put a cap on the regular season.
