Fleet-Davis is the No. 18 player in Maryland and the No. 38 running back in the class of 2017, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s high school teammates with cornerback Deon Jones, who committed to Maryland earlier this month.
Maryland does not have any other running backs committed in the class of 2017. The Terps’ big target in the class is DeMatha running back Anthony McFarland, but Fleet-Davis is no slouch either.
He released a Big Ten-heavy top four consisting of Maryland, Syracuse, Indiana and Iowa in June. Fleet-Davis’s commitment makes him the 14th member of the Terps’ 2017 class, all of which are of course unofficial until National Signing Day. He’s the third player to commit to Maryland in less than 24 hours, joining kicker Jonathan Doerer and center Johnny Jordan.
