Former Maryland basketball player Dez Wells has signed a one-year deal with Tiger Tubingen in Germany, the team announced on Twitter. He will play in the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) along with former Terp Evan Smotrycz, who signed a one-year deal with Eisbären Bremerhaven. The two will play against each other on September 24.

Wells started all seven summer league games he played in, averaging 4.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 18 minutes per game. He went on to win the Las Vegas summer league title. Last season he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder’s D-League affiliate Oklahoma City Blue, where he averaged 12.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29 minutes per game.
Smotrycz scored 4 points in 12 minutes across two games in summer league for the Toronto Raptors. He spent last season playing for Keravnos in Cyprus in the same league as another former Terrapin, Richaud Pack.
