Maryland basketball will play Richmond in the 2016 Barclays Center Classic, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
Maryland will play Richmond and BC will face Kansas State in the first round of the 2016 Barclays Center Classic, sources told @CBSSports.

Maryland last appeared in this tournament in 2013, as the Terps kicked off their season with a one-point loss to eventual national champion Connecticut.
Rothstein and the Baltimore Sun's Don Marcus both reported that Maryland would be playing in the Barclays Center Classic back in November, but the Terps' opponent was unknown at that time.
Boston College and Kansas State are also in the field for the classic. Maryland has emerged victorious from each of its last three early-season tournaments, all coming right before Thanksgiving.
(Boston College lost every conference game it played last season, but that's a topic for another time.)
Richmond finished last season 16-16 (7-11 A-10), and was bounced by Davidson in the A-10 Tournament.
