It's time. The Maryland men's basketball team faces Kansas Thursday night in the Sweet 16, giving the Terps a chance to move to their first Elite Eight since their national championship season in 2002. They're already in their first Sweet 16 since 2003, 13 years ago, but it probably will take one more win to make this a particularly memorable March.
Maryland opened as 7-point underdog after beating Hawaii in the round of 32, but that line has gotten smaller in recent days. The Terps are a 6- or 6.5-point underdog at most sportsbooks now, still making them the biggest underdog in any of Thursday's action.
The Terps don't feel like underdogs, and it indeed wouldn't be a shock by see them win. But it'll be their hardest game of the year, and a win would be the biggest thing Mark Turgeon has done in five seasons in College Park.
Now, all that's left to do is watch.
