GameThread: Maryland vs. Nebraska at the Big Ten Tournament

The Terps start what they hope will be a long postseason.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

The Maryland Terrapins take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers Friday evening in the final semifinal game of the Big Ten Tournament. In the afternoon games, Michigan upset No. 1 seed Indiana to move onto the semifinals. Purdue ended Illinois' tournament run with a dominant 31-point victory.

Maryland earned one of the four coveted tournament double byes for the second consecutive year, while Nebraska will be playing in its third game in as many days. Both teams are hoping to advance to Saturday's quarterfinals, where the winner will take on the winner of the currently ongoing Ohio State-Michigan State game (probably going to be the Spartans).

The Terrapins are hoping to bounce back from an 18-point loss to Indiana on Sunday, which marked their fourth loss in the last six games. Maryland defeated Nebraska in the only match-up between the schools this season, a five-point victory back on Feb. 3 in Lincoln.
