While the Terps are expected to be No. 1 in Monday's Coaches Poll, Maryland will probably not achieve its first AP No. 1 ranking in school history.

With North Carolina losing twice and Oklahoma losing, coupled with Maryland defeating Nebraska and Purdue last week, the Terps have a real shot of being No. 1 in this week's Coaches Poll.

Maryland could move up to No. 1 in the AP Poll, but it's not very likely. Maryland was No. 4 in last week's poll, and the team ahead of them, Villanova, will likely be the new No. 1. But based on the number of people that had Maryland at No. 3 last week, there is a chance the Terps at least get some first place votes.
