GameThread: Maryland basketball vs. Kansas State

The Terps look to claim the Barclays Classic championship.

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Maryland basketball is an underdog for the second time this season in tonight's game against Kansas State. The Wildcats are one-point favorites on a neutral court in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. Kansas State is coming off an 18-point win over Boston College in the tournament's opening round while the Terps scraped together a 6-point overtime win over Richmond.

Maryland has looked shaky all year, but hasn't dropped a game. The Terps are 6-0 behind a number of monster performances from their star, Melo Trimble, who has scored 21 or more points in every game this season save for a blowout win over a Division III team. He'll need some help from the bench for Maryland to stay perfect. In the win over Richmond, non-starters scored all of four points.

Follow along with our reporters, @mellentuck, who is at the game in Brooklyn and @RyanConnors_ who is live from his couch and probably with his dog after covering Maryland football's win over Rutgers.
