GameThread: Maryland vs. Iowa

Discussion of the first top-10 men's basketball meeting in Xfinity Center's history.

We've talked and written much about Thursday night's Maryland-Iowa showdown in College Park. The game tips at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN, and it promises to be high entertainment. It's finally time to play.

No. 7 Maryland enters at 17-3 and 6-2 in the Big Ten, off a loss to Michigan State. Iowa enters at 16-3 but 7-0 in the league, making this especially important for the Terps. If they can't win, they'll effectively be four losses behind the Hawkeyes in the Big Ten standings with nine games left to play – basically ending any shot at winning the league's regular season championship.

The Hawkeyes are very, very good. Led by national player of the year candidate Jarrod Uthoff, they've obliterated just about their entire schedule. They've already swept both Michigan State and Purdue, the two teams who had earlier figured to be Maryland's stiffest competition in the conference.

All night, we'll make sure to give you lots to read and watch from press row. Thanks for following along with us here and on Twitter.

Maryland has won 24 games in a row at home. Do you think the streak hits 25?
