GameThread: Maryland vs. Northwestern

The Terps travel to Evanston to take on the Wildcats.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

After Diamond Stone willed the Terrapins to victory against Penn State, Maryland men's basketball will look to move to 2-0 in Big Ten play against the Northwestern Wildcats Saturday night.

Since losing to North Carolina, the Terps have won their last six games in a row. While Northwestern is missing big man Alex Olah, the Wildcats should still be a formidable opponent for the Terps.

KenPom gives Maryland exactly a 50 percent chance to win this one, but predicts a 69-68 win for the Terrapins. After needing a record-breaking performance from Stone to come back from a 13-point deficit against the Nittany Lions, the Terps will need more contributions from the rest of the team if they want to beat the Wildcats.

The good news is that Maryland probably couldn't shoot as badly as it did against Penn State again, even if it tried.

Here's our preview, and here's all the info you need to tune in.

We won't have anyone in Evanston, but follow along @testudotimes, @alex_kirshner, and @ryanconnors11 for updates and commentary throughout the game.
